Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know before booking your private catamaran tour.
Booking
Booking is simple: fill out our quote form on this page, send us a message on WhatsApp (+52 998 892-8694), or email info@cancuncatamaranes.com.mx. We respond within a few hours — usually much faster. Once we confirm availability and you approve the details, we will send you a payment link and your reservation is confirmed.
What's Included
Your private catamaran charter includes: exclusive use of the vessel for your group, open bar (beer, spirits, mixers, water and soft drinks), snorkeling equipment for all guests (mask, fins, life vest), a bilingual captain and crew, and Bluetooth music system — bring your playlist. What is NOT included: the dock/island entry fee (approximately $18 USD per person, paid at the marina), crew gratuity (suggested 10–15%), and hotel transportation (available as an add-on).
Private Tours
Yes — 100% private. When you book a private charter with us, the entire catamaran is reserved exclusively for your group. There will be no strangers, no other tourists, and no shared experience. Only your group and our crew. This is the fundamental difference between a private charter and a shared group tour, and it is why our guests consistently rate their experience as exceptional.
General
Absolutely. Every catamaran is equipped with a Bluetooth sound system. You are welcome to connect your phone and play whatever you like — your party playlist, reggaeton, jazz, whatever sets the mood for your group. Our crew is there to serve you, not to control the vibe.
Safety
Snorkeling in Cancun is safe and accessible for almost everyone, including beginners. All guests receive a safety briefing from our crew before entering the water. We provide proper fitting masks, fins and life vests — so even non-swimmers can enjoy floating over the reef comfortably. Our crew stays in the water alongside guests who want extra guidance. Children under 6 should consult with us before booking.
The safety of our guests is always the priority. If the Port Authority of Cancun (ZOFEMAT) closes the port due to weather conditions or any safety concern, we will contact you immediately to reschedule at no additional cost, or provide a full refund if rescheduling is not possible. We monitor conditions closely and will always communicate proactively.
Pricing
Dock fees are not included in the charter price. These are fees charged by the Port Authority for docking at Isla Mujeres and are approximately $18 USD per person. They are paid directly at the marina on the day of your tour. This is standard practice for all catamaran operators in Cancun and we always communicate this clearly before you book.
Crew gratuity is not included in the charter price. Our captains and crew work hard to ensure your day is exceptional, and gratuities are a meaningful part of their income. We suggest 10–15% of the charter price, but it is entirely at your discretion. A happy crew makes for a happier tour.
Logistics
Yes. We offer comfortable, reliable hotel transportation from most hotels in the Cancun Hotel Zone, Downtown Cancun, Puerto Morelos, Playa del Carmen and the Riviera Maya. Pricing varies by pickup location and group size. Just include your hotel name and address when requesting your quote and we will add the transport option.
Tours
Both are great — it depends on your group. The 4-hour tour is ideal if you want a solid Caribbean experience (sailing + snorkeling + Playa Norte) without spending your whole day at sea. It is also great for families with young children. The 7-hour tour gives you everything the 4-hour does, PLUS time to explore Isla Mujeres itself — rent golf carts, visit local restaurants, shop the main street and fully experience the island. If you have a free day in Cancun, the 7-hour tour is the one most guests call "the best day of our trip."
Destinations
Yes — Playa Norte is included in our Isla Mujeres tours. It is consistently ranked among the top beaches in the world, with shallow, calm, crystal-clear turquoise water and white sand. Your catamaran will anchor nearby so you can swim and enjoy the beach. Time on Playa Norte varies by tour duration: approximately 45–60 minutes on the 4-hour tour and up to 90 minutes on the 7-hour tour.
Events
Absolutely — bachelorette parties are one of our most popular charter types. We know how to make the bride-to-be feel celebrated. Bring your decorations, your group and your energy — we bring the private catamaran, open bar, great music and a crew that knows how to keep the party going. We can recommend vendors for custom banners, photography and other special touches if you need them.
Large Groups
Yes. We have vessels specifically designed for large groups. Our Samba III trimaran accommodates up to 90 guests, and our Caribbean Dream 60 handles up to 70 guests. For groups above 30 people, we recommend contacting us directly so we can recommend the best vessel and customize the experience for your specific event. Large group bookings often benefit from priority scheduling and customized pricing.
Policies
We understand that travel plans can change. Cancellations made more than 48 hours before your scheduled departure are eligible for a full refund or free reschedule. Cancellations within 48 hours of departure may be subject to a partial cancellation fee. If we cancel due to weather or port closure, you will always receive a full refund or free reschedule at no penalty to you. Full details are in our Cancellation Policy.
